Dogma volunteers save lives dailyDOGMA is a 100% volunteer organization. Dogma Animal Rescue would not be able to accomplish our mission of saving endangered animals without the dedicated efforts of our volunteers. We have no paid staff, consultants, or office space. We foster animals in our homes and come together for public adoption events on the weekends. We would love for you to join the Dogma family!

Dogma focuses on pregnant dogs facing euthanasia at overcrowded shelters. Because of this we are always looking for fosters with experience whelping dogs. We also receive dogs that are not pregnant and just need a safe place to relax and receive medical attention until they are adopted. Our litters are fostered in Sonoma county until they are ready for adoption. We always need local families from Sonoma County who are able to care for these dogs and puppies during the last stretch of the rescue process. Fosters are responsible for the daily care of the animal, and transporting to medical appointments and adoption events. Dogma provides food, medical care, kennels, and any other needed supplies.
Fostering a pregnant dog is an excellent opportunity for students who need to gain experience. In the past we have had families with children involved in clubs such as 4-H, Boy Scouts, and Future Farmers of America (FFA) foster animals. Additionally, many local colleges, to include Santa Rosa Junior College, have community involvement programs that offer transferable credit for volunteer work.
