SEX   1 female, 1 male
DOB    January 16, 2023
BREED     Shepherd/Pitbull mix

Meet Goose and Penny: Our Top Gun litter have dwindled down to just two, Goose and Penny, and these two will take your breathe away! This brother and sister duo are approximately 4 month old Shepherd/Pitbull mix puppies. Goose weighs around 20 pounds and should grow to be around 60 pounds full size. Penny weighs around 15 pounds should grow to be around 45 pounds full size. Both parents were small for their breed and have sweet dispositions. The puppies are following their parents in size and disposition.

In all seriousness these are sweet, affectionate, loving pups. They are also energetic, strong and curious. Over the past couple of months in their foster home they have learned patience and how to focus with the introduction is basic obedience training and playing fetch in the back yard. With guidance from their forever person they are going to grow into beautiful dogs with great temperments. It will be important to include the pups in every day activities so they grow up learning car rides are fun, meeting strangers means lots of petting and attention, and often times a fun hike in the woods or trip to the dog park. This will produce a dog who embraces new experiences instead of shaking like a leaf when they get put in the car.

Goose and Penny are being fostered in a home with other dogs and adults but have been exposed to children and done fine. They are easy,  accommodating puppies. They currently sleep in a crate at night, are doing great on house training, and working on leash training.

SEX   3 female, 2 male
DOB    January 19, 2023
BREED     Terrier mix

Meet our Gilmore Girls litter: Yes, these are some cute puppies without a care in the world. They are confident, curious, brave, adventurous and empty pages waiting to be filled. That's some high praise for puppies barely 9 weeks old, but it's true. The reason they are so well balanced is they've been groomed to be this way since the day they were born.

A few months back we accepted three pregnant, little dogs who were fostered by our friends at Bergin University of Canine Studies. One of the dogs ended up miscarrying but stuck around and took on the role of the doting auntie. The other two dogs delivered their puppies and everyone was raised in the Bergin program. Their presence helped students identify and observe developmental stages in puppies. What that means for the adopter is simple, these puppies have been handled every single day of their lives, have been around lots and lots of different people, and have no fear of humans. Why should they? From the day they were born they were surrounded by people who held them, kept them warm, and cuddled them to sleep. As they got older and learned to play there were people always around playing with them and reinforcing good behavior. These puppies are more human than dog, lol.

They are being fostered in a home with other dogs and adults but have been exposed to children and done fine. They are easy,  accommodating puppies. They currently sleep in a crate at night, are doing great on house training, and working on leash training. They have begun learning basic obedience leassons and are learned to chase and return a ball.

BREED   Black Labrador mixes

Meet the Goose and Pheasant: We love Labrador puppies and always have so much fun when we get some. As usual, these awkward, silly, clumsy puppies are in high demand . We have two of the original seven, Goose and Pheasant, remaining and they are just getting cuter every day as they grow into their clumsy stage. Both boys are now around 25 pounds and we expect them to grow to around 70 pounds full size.

These boys are friendly, outgoing, and high-spirited companions who have more than enough affection to go around for a family looking for a large size dog. As the weather improves they are spending more time outside and their Lab DNA is kicking in. They love water, playing keep away and napping the afternoon away in the shade of a big, old tree. They are picking up training quickly and learning new task every day. These boy are your typical Labrador in every sense of the word. Even at their young age they have shown us that they are smart, adventurous and eager to bond with their people whenever a lap is left empty.

Currently, Goose and Penny sleep together in an exercise pen. They sleep through the night and wait until morning to do their business. They are very close to being fully house trained and they are working on leash training. They are being fostered in a home with three teenage boys and other dogs. They love playing with the kids and being included in their hijnks and have integrated into the dog pack effortlessly. These puppies are amazing. Check them out before they're gone.

Brutus

SEX   Male
DOB    December 20, 2022
BREED     Cattle dog mix

Meet Brutus: Brutus is an 8 week old, 8 pound, male Cattle Dog mix. We expect him to grow to be about 50 pounds full size. He is an energetic puppy with an adventurous, curious streak that often leads to some pretty entertaining situations around the house. While he is in the phase where he never slows down he still enjoys a nap curled up on his person’s lap. Brutus is an active puppy and will most likely grow into an active dog so it is imperative whoever adopts him exercises him mentally with training, toys, frisbee, fetch, etc., and physically with walks, hikes, runs or other outdoor adventures. This is a smart dog and the more work you put into him the first two years of his life the better dog you will have for his lifetime. If you want to dog you can leave home, walk twice a day around the neighborhood and do minimal training, this is not the dog for you.

Brutus is being fostered in a home with kids and other dogs. He does well with all of them but he is teething and has sharp little teeth so we recommend a home with older, dog savvy kids for him. He has not been exposed to cats but we think he would do alright with them if he were introduced while he is still young because he has done well with small and large dogs and hasn’t shown any prey drive of any kind. He currently sleeps in a crate at night, is working on house training, and will need to be leash trained. Brutus is a sweet puppy with a fun personality and overflowing character. He’s a one of a kind dog that you have to see to believe.

SEX   2 females, 1 males
DOB    February 18, 2023
BREED     Terrier mix

Meet the Swifties: Our adorable puppies; 1989 (F), Evermore (F), Fearless (F), Lover (F), Midnights (M) and Red (M) came to us after being found in a box on the side of a Central Valley road. They are small breed Terrier puppies weighing between 3-5 pounds. Full size these puppies will be around 20 pounds. They are active, healthy and social with everyone they meet and absolutely love playing games like keep away and tug of war, meal times, receiving dedicated lap time from their foter people and afternoon naps. Since they arrived at around 5 weeks of age we can't pinpoint down personalities on all of them but they all explore their foster home and meet strangers without fear and learn new things quickly. They are empty pages waiting to be filled.

Currently these little ones are living in a foster home with other dogs. They travel at times with their foster mom to work at a gym. Because of that they have been handled by a lot of people, including children, and do great interacting with new people. they also ride well in the car so would be great on road trip or just running errands with their forever families. They sleep in an exercise pen at night, are not house trained or leash trained. These are some really nice little puppies and they are going to be fantastic pets. If you're looking to add a new furry friend to our family check these pups out.

SEX   Male
DOB    July 07, 2022
BREED     Doberman Pinscher mix

Meet Clyde: Clyde is an 10 month old, 80 pound, male Doberman Pinscher. We always list our dogs as mixes but Clyde and his littermates came from a hoarding situation in the Central Valley and we have seen both parents. They were both purebred Dobermans. Clyde is a happy, eager to please, easy going boy. He's also an giant, clumsy, playful, naughty puppy. We have a feeling Clyde might just be a clumsy goof at heart and these characteristics may just be a part of his personality. He's a lover not a fighter. He will love you with all his heart and in return he just wants to be treated kindly, made a part of the family, and given some devoted attention so he always feels special and wanted. Yep, he might be enormous, but he's a sensitive boy and can read the mood of his people pretty well.

Anyone who adopts Clyde will be lucky because his foster family has been working with him and helping him develop into a well balanced dog. He is already house trained, crate trained, and leash trained and has begun his obedience training. His development is far ahead of most 8 month old rescue dogs. Just remember he's still a puppy, and puppies are naughty...never underestimate the trouble they can get into, especially when they're 80 pounds.

Clyde has been fostered in a home with small children and other dogs, including one of his brothers. He has done well with all. He loves to play and is a strong boy, so the potential for small children to get bumped and knocked over, and those kind of accidents is there, but he's a gentle dog and wouldn't intentionally harm a fly. In time and with some maturity he is going to be a really great dog. All the building block are already there, they just need to be arrange in the proper order. That means obedience training and bonding time with his person.

Penny

adoption info

SEX   Female
DOB    December 18, 2022
BREED     Hound/Shepherd mix

Meet Penny: Penny is a 16 week old, 30 pound, female Hound/Shepherd mix . We expect her to grow to around 60 pounds full size. Unlike most dogs in our program who arrive from the Central Valley, Penny is a local girl. Her owners lived from hotel room to hotel room and ended up giving her to a friend because they couldn't care for her. Their friend reached out to us for help and we incorporated her into our program.

Penny is a playful puppy full of energy. She loves the other dogs in her foster home and they in turn have been corrected her naughty puppy habits, like biting on their ear for attention. She is a happy girl and enjoys being a part of the family, getting hugged and loved on, and lazy belly rubs on the couch. This girl has the potential to be a great family pet and companion. She's good with her foster family's children and large and small breed dogs. Because of her age she still has plenty of puppy energy so long walks, running with her person, hiking in our glorious parks, doggy daycare, or training sessions would all help keep her energy level under control.

Penny is being fostered in a home with other dogs and school aged children. She sleeps in a crate at night, is leash trained (but could use some additional training) and is pretty much house trained from copying the other dogs. She's a smart dog who picks up new thing quickly, and because of her early upbringing, adopts to new situations easily.

SEX   Male
DOB    December 19, 2022
BREED     Kelpie/Terrier mix

Meet Luke: Luke is a 4.5 month old, 15 pound, male Kelpie/Terrier mix. He arrived a few months back with his brother and sister who have both been adopted. There's always a last puppy in every litter, whether there are 2 pups or 12. Still, it's always a little sad to see one puppy continue to be overlooked at adoption events because younger, fluffier puppies debut instead.

Luke is a great choice for adoption if you already have a busy schedule. He sleeps through the night, is already house trained, walks well on a leash and is accustomed to the schedule of a family with children. His current weight of 15 pounds means he shouldn't weigh more than 35-40 pounds full size. Luke is a ready made house dog and will acclimate quickly into any home. He's an independant, loving dog that doesn't need constant attention. He's happy sunning on the deck. playing with his toys or sleeping on his dog bed in the living room. He mostly entertains himself except at night when he will seek out a warm lap to cuddle on for pets and warmth. He has been raised in his foster home with school aged children and another dog. We would love to see him in a home that had some kids or another dog for him to play with.

SEX   Female
DOB    August 1, 2021
BREED     Chihuahua mix

Meet Mary: Mary is a 6 year old, 15 pound, female Poodle mix. She is full size and will not grow any larger. She is a fantastic dog who would thrive in a home as the only dog. She gets along with other dogs but wants all the attention from her people to herself. She is the perfect companion animal, rides well in the car, does tricks, and will not wander away from her person. She will be completely devoted to her owner and thrives on attention. Mary's perfect evening is simply curled up on your lap while you watch television.

Mary loves children, going bye bye and puppuccinos at Starbucks!! She’d be a great companion for an empty nester couple because she loves both men and woman. She’s respectful while walking. You won’t trip over this beautiful lady. She does well in large groups of people. She recently went to a festival with her foster mom and did very well. She did not bark at other dogs, walked beautifully on a leash and dances for treats.

She is good with everyone, young and old, leash trained, potty trained but learned it while in our program and will need reinforcement to keep her going outside, knows commands, and is very intuitive. She will need to be groomed a few times a year so that expense should be considered when deciding whether or not to apply for this sweetheart.

SEX   Male
DOB    March 11, 2022
BREED   Terrier mix

Meet Charlie: From the moment he arrived in November we could tell Charlie was a special dog. Charlie is a 5 year old, 16 pound, male Chihuahua. He arrived far too skinny, missing a large portion of his coat, had foggy eyes from a tick-borne disease, was anemic and had a badly broken leg flopping around like a rag doll. He had wandered up to a house looking for food and found his way to us via a Central Valley shelter. Upon arrival he was treated for his injuries and it was determined that the limb was too damaged to save. On November 29th it was amputated, he received a dental cleaning and was neutered.

Since that time Charlie, also called C3PO, has adapted to living his life in a safe environment where he is treated with kindness and a gentle hand. He’s learned that not all people need to be feared, that mealtime happens every day and the warmest place to nap is on his foster’s bed because there is a heated blanket.
Charlie is being fostered in a home with small children, other dogs, cats, chickens and small farm animals. He is good with his family but is nervous when new people first visit the house. He is completely fine with the children in the home and recognizes them as part of the pack. He gets along great with the other dogs in the home and is not slowed down by his missing leg. He gets along with cats but will still chase them when the other dogs do it. He has no intention of harming them but falls in line with the other dogs. He is fine with them in the house. He doesn’t bother the chickens or farm animals.

Even when Charlie first arrived and was in terrible pain he never showed any aggression towards people. There have been situations where strangers come into his foster home and he barks but that’s because he’s protecting his family which he recognizes are part of his pack. Charlie sleeps around the house at night and usually ends up on his foster mom’s bed. He is house trained and leash trained. Like most former street dogs, Charlie will benefit from accompanying his people when they run errands or have meals outside of the home. Exposure to different situations will make him more comfortable and help him realize he is safe both inside and outside the house.

DOB    August 11, 2022
BREED  Chihuahua mix

Meet Todd: Meet our smiley boy, Todd. He is an 8 month old, 7 lb, male Chihuahua mix. He has a beautiful, toothy smile and loves to show it. Don't let this boy confuse you. That's not an aggressive growly face he's making at you, that's a pearly invite to be his friend. We're looking for someone to adopt this boy who appreciates the oversized character he has shown himself to be.

Todd is bubbling with personality and is cute as a button. He's very playful, loves to be held and loved on, and is probably one of the more social dogs I've ever seen. This little guy will do whatever it takes to make his people happy. He is being fostered in a home with other dogs and has been around children and cats in his former home. He loves kids and cats. Todd is house trained and walks well on leash. This little guy is a catch! I could go on but frankly it would just be more gushing about what a remarkably good dog he is, so I'll just end this by saying one more time, GO ADOPT TODD!

BREED  Terrier Mix

Meet Pua: Pua is an 8 week old, 6 pound, female Terrier mix. Her name means flower in Hawaiian. We have to admit this little girl fits her name perfectly and she has many common characteristics found in other Hawaiian flowers. Pua's bright, colorful displays last for months on end and so far her energy hasn't wilted one bit. Luckily a good watering and some food will slow her down and provide some respite while she rest. If you like plants from Hawaii, it means you appreciate very odd looking varieties and you will appreciate Pua, too. Unlike most Hawaiian flowers Pua's "blossoms" may not remind you of sunkissed afternoons on the beach, but they are fragrant. You'll see...Ua loaʻa iaʻu ka ʻīlio nau, e ka hoahānau. He mea iki.

Pua is a beautiful puppy and is sweet and affectionate but she plays hard, has a lot of energy and is currently teething. Children will get scratched or nibbled in the course of playing and because of that could become fearful of her. We recommend an experienced dog owner for this exotic flower who has raised active puppies and knows how to redirect her through this phase and into young adulthood. If you don't have dog experience, have a young family, and want Pua because she's pretty, this is not the dog for you. If I was looking for a new dog I would adopt Pua in a second, so I don't want anyone to get the wrong idea about her. You're not going to find a better personality or hilarious naughty streak.

Pua is being fostered in a home with pre-school and school age children, another dogs and cats. She does great with people and dogs and hasn't had much contact with the cats. She will do fine with cats if introduced young. She currently sleeps in a crate at night with her siblings, is working on house training and is not leash trained.

BREED  Chihuahua Terrier Mix

Meet Ladybug: Ladybug is a 6 month old, 10 pound, female Chihuahua mix. We expect her to be around 15 pounds full size. She is an active puppy and will happily spent sunny days outside chasing the resident dogs in the yard. Once she’s exhausted herself she will curl up on her on her person’s lap for some quality cuddle time. She is well balanced and has a nice temperament. She can be shy initially around strangers but that's common with all small puppies. Working with her and bringing her with you when running errands or having lunch will help her overcome the shyness. She is completely comfortable with the people she sees on a regular basis and seeks out attention.

Currently Ladybug is housed with other dogs and older children. She is accustomed to an active home and is not intimated but larger dogs. She is crate trained, house trained walks well on leash training. She enjoys the company of other dogs and would be a great addition if you’re looking for a companion for your existing dog.

SEX    4 female, 3 male
DOB    January 15, 2023
BREED   Border Collie mix

Meet our Ette Litter:  These cute puppies are 10 weeks old, weigh between 15-20 pounds, and are Border Collie mixes. We don't know what the other breed is but it's much larger than a Collie. We expect these puppies be be between 60-75 pounds full size.

Border Collies are a great companion animals because they have plenty of energy and can keep up with a busy family's schedule. They learn quickly, train easily, and love having a job to do. They form tight bonds with their family and are good watch dogs. Because Border Collies are high energy dogs they do best with some space to run and play. They are natural herders and although good with children they will still try to herd them.

So what kind of puppies are these chunkettes? These are some curious, playful, sensitive pups. They love playing with toys, their siblings and napping in the sun. Their favorite games are tug-of-war and keep away and they’ve never seen a food bowl they didn’t love. They are also happy to come nestle in for some snuggle time and can’t refuse a belly rub.

Once grown puppettes from this litter will be able to take long walks around the neighborhood and more difficult hikes in more challenging locations. They will be great on camping trips and other family outings. They are the ideal size for on the go outdoorsy families who want a dog that can join them on all their adventures. They would also love an existing dog in the home to learn from and become pals.

They are currently being fostered in a home with other dogs and children. They get along great with dogs nd love children. At night they sleep together in a crate, are working on house training and are not leash trained. They are smart dogs and will need toys and activities that continue to stimulate their minds. Walks and activities like training and fetch with also do wonders to keep them calm and focused. Remember, a tired puppy is a good puppy!
